North East Family Medicine is looking for VR GP’s to join our progressive, cohesive team.

We are a mixed billing practice, which as the name suggests is family focused.

Located 2.5 hours from Melbourne, the Wangaratta region provides an amazing work-life balance in a growing regional city. With multiple sporting clubs, the alpine ski fields and national parks on your doorstep along with a thriving food and wine scene. For families, a number of educational options exist to cater for all age groups, from Day care through to High School.

Do you have a special interest that you want to look at developing further, such as skin cancer, obstetrics, paediatrics, weight loss medicine, sports medicine, IUD insertions, education? We are only too happy to help you develop these skills and curate an enjoyable career path. There are also further opportunities within town in emergency medicine and surgical assisting. We offer ongoing mentorship throughout your career with us and regularly meet with all of our team members to ensure we can support them to meet their career goals.

We provide the ability to impart your knowledge and help shape the future of medicine as we are a teaching clinic for both Medical Students (Uni of Melb) and Registrars.

We also are an innovative group. We embraced Telehealth and e-prescriptions early during the pandemic and work regularly with a software engineer to create tech solutions to reduce time needed for admin and more time for patient care. Our biggest success in this field so far has been developing a process for the IT support for vaccination clinics which has been provided to other clinics throughout Australia leading to efficient vaccination clinics for Influenza and COVID-19.

We have a limited on-call roster shared amongst our GP team with minimal calls, and no aged care requirements.

We offer flexibility around hours of work, patients per hours, breaks and leave to ensure our GP’s remain sustainable, happy practitioners.

We offer weekly in-house educational sessions.

Additional to our treatment room nurse, we have a dedicated chronic disease nurse/pharmacist 5 days per week.

We have a fully equipped treatment room including ECG, hyfrecator and a Butterfly ultrasound.

We have a modern, efficient IT system and use programming to enhance our systems. We are leaders in developing IT solutions that have been expanded to other clinics allowing efficient time management and swift, mass vaccination clinics.

We have a 0% empty seat rate and a great demand for new doctors in our town, now is the time to join. We aim to double our FTE from 4 doctors to 8 in the next 1-2 years. We have the infrastructure and support staff in place to achieve this so all we need now is you!

We are a mixed billing clinic with childhood immunisations, management plans and health assessments bulk billed. Our bulk billing rate sits at 25%. On average our VR GP’s bill $490 per consulting hour.

We are happy to consider applicants looking for part time or full time work.

Candidates may be eligible for a $7000 relocation grant and for those that require it, we are located in a DPA/Bonded area. You will also be eligible for the GP WIP.
