North East Family Medicine is a General Practice Clinic in Wangaratta looking to employ a Dual Registered Nurse/Midwife.

We currently have four General Practitioners, two practice nurses and an administration team of five and are looking for the right person to join our team.

The position will be 24 hours per week.

Remuneration will be according to knowledge and experience.

To be successful in this role you will be a positive and effective team player who brings excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills. 

You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage your time effectively to meet your responsibilities. 

Ideally you will have had experience as a practice nurse and midwife with a strong administration background specifically in planning and implementing new practice initiatives.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in General Practice
  • Experience with Health Assessments/Chronic Disease Management Plans
  • Immunisations / Vaccinations/ Wound Care / Dressings
  • ECG’s
  • Triaging and providing results to patients 
  • Demonstrated risk management and OH&S 
  • Assisting with minor procedures
  • Stock management 
  • Compliant with CPD requirements
  • Demonstrated competencies in and knowledge of the complexities and challenges involved in providing nursing/midwifery care
  • The ability to effectively prioritise and organise workload and deliver care with integrity and accountability
  • Effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written and verbal means and sound interpersonal skills with the capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner.
  • Current working with children check

Desirable Criteria

  • Thorough understanding of MBS Item numbers and guidelines or willing to obtain
  • Experience with Best Practice software or similar.
  • Ability to review and implement continuous improvement programs
  • Cold Chain Management Knowledge
  • Strong policy and procedure background particularly in relation

Education

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BN, BSc Nursing) and Diploma in Midwifery or;
  • Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery 
  • Current unrestricted Registration with AHPRA (Division 1 Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife)
  • Post-Graduate Qualifications or experience in Chronic Disease Management are advantageous
